De kanshebbers op een AIM zijn bekend

Elk jaar deelt de Association of Independent Music zijn AIM-Awards uit. Dit jaar lijken vooral IDLES, Jade Bird, Fontaines DC en rappers Little Simz en Dave kans te maken op een prijs, afgaande op de nominaties.

Niet verassend gaat IDLES met de meeste nominaties lopen. Zij zijn vier keer genomineerd: voor UK Independent Breakthrough, International Breakthrough, Best (Difficult) Second Album en Best Creative Packaging voor hun album ‘Joy as an Act of Resistance’ (herlees de recensie hier).

Jade Bird is concurrent voor IDLES in de categorieën UK Independent Breakthrough en International Breakthrough en werd ook genomineerd in de categorie voor Best Independent Album.

Little Simz werd twee keer genomineerd. Een keer voor haar track Selfish in de categorie Best Independent Track en een keer in de categorie Best Independent Album voor haar album ‘GREY Area’. Ook Dave sleepte twee nominaties uit de brand. Eentje voor Funky Friday in de categorie Best Independent Track en eentje voor zijn plaat ‘PSYCHODRAMA’.

Fontaines DC behoren ook tot de kanshebbers in de categorie Best Independent Track met Boys In The Better Land en Best Independent Album met ‘Stunning Luxury’.
